He’s going to the Chiefs. And with that, the reign of terror brought upon the City of Fountains by Mattrelious Cassel has come to an end. In fact, with Smith’s relocation, the AFC West is becoming quite an exciting quarterback conference: Philip Rivers in San Diego (94.5 career QBR / 114 career PRI); Fetushead Noodlearm in Denver (95.7 career QBR / 119 career PRI); Smith in Kansas City; and, um Carson Palmer (86.2 career QBR / 104 career PRI) in Oakland. As of right now, the 2013 AFC West is tops in both 2012 quarterback rating and passer rating index. And that’s counting Rivers’ (fingers crossed) uncharacteristically incompetent year in 2012. We’ll have to see if Smith can perform near his recent San Francisco level behind Kansas City’s pathetic offensive line, but still, the AFC West may yet establish itself as mediocre conference.
