According to Rece Davis and the College Football Gameday crew, there is some confusion as to what “Carolina” refers. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t warrant even a snort of a response, but things have been looking down in the Tar Heel state over the past several years, what with cheating football players, Republican-led voter suppression, and the loss of Andrew Wiggins. So that lends a little tweek of pain to the national sports crew’s confusion, even if it is only invented to bring some kind of a narrative to the very first game of the 2013 NCAA football season, which is airing right now on ESPN. To make matters worse, this game is off to a terrible start for Carolina fans. Ick.
Anyway, look at this fainting goat prank from the off season:
Honestly, who gets to call themselves Carolina? Um, Carolina does. And South Carolina doesn’t get to call themselves USC either. THESE ARE THE RULES.
