In the second half of the NBA All Star game on Sunday, Dwyane Wade, after playing no more defense than anyone else in the game up to that point, snapped and fouled the West’s Kobe Bryant hard from behind as Kobe drove to the basket. Check it out.
Yesterday we learned that Wade broke Kobe’s nose. Today, we learn that Kobe has a concussion as well. As Laker fans, we’ve been abuzz trying to figure out why Wade suddenly became the kid in the neighborhood who makes it no fun to play because he takes everything too seriously. To that end, we here at ALTTAB have come up with a couple theories. Feel free to post your own in the comments.
1. Wade misunderstood something Shaq mumbled in the TNT booth about Kobe being ‘his favorite.’
2. Wade caught sight of LeBron wearing his headband so far back on his head to cover his receding hairline that he was overcome by a profound sadness for having to acknowledge his own mortality that caused him to lash out.
3. Wade was invested in being the ‘next Michael Jordan’ but after Kobe passed MJ on the all time All Star scoring list, Wade was upset about now having to be the ‘next Kobe Bryant.’
